Footprints on the Path: Eileen Caddy

‘Eileen Caddy (1917-2006) is known worldwide as one of the three founders of the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. The books that have flowed from her inspiration have drawn multitudes to the Findhorn community. In her own person, Eileen Caddy , divinely ordinary as she described herself, has pushed the limits of the ordinary person’s experience to the very borders of the Kingdom of God.’

A passage for the soul, to kick start your day by Eileen Caddy

Wake up and live.

Set your sights high,
the higher the better.
Expect the most wonderful things to happen,
not in the future but right now.
Realise that nothing is too good.
Allow absolutely nothing to hamper you
or hold you up in any way.

Be enthusiastic about life.
It is a wonderful life;
make it so by your enthusiasm.

Learn to be very clear and definite
about what you desire in life;
never be vague or uncertain.
You can do all things,
you can be all things to all people
when you have faith and trust are in Me.
Have confidence in your ability to do all things
because you are drawing your substance,
your all, from Me.
I am your all in all.

Stride forward with a firm, steady step,
knowing with a deep, certain inner knowing
that you will reach every goal you set yourself,
that you will achieve every aim.

You can soar to great heights
with hearts filled with praise and thanksgiving;
but like tiny lark, you have to take off from the ground,
you have to make that special effort .
It need not be a strain,
it can be a joyous light-hearted effort
which is an effortless effort

Once you are off the ground
up and up you can go with complete freedom.
Why remain anchored
when action on your part can change your life completely.

I was recommended to read Eileen Caddy by my dad. And what a warm, profound spiritual teacher and new age author she is. How she gently conveys clear cut messages regarding different areas in our lives, reminding us the potential we all have within ourselves to be our better selves. Her messages are a breath of fresh air to read and I will gladly display more of her messages in the latter stages of my blog. Keep your eyes peeled and feel Caddy happy.

Big Bang : KPOP kings

It’s been many years now up until this day I have loved and listened to KPOP, and it is especially the band Big Bang, whom have exploded with popularity across the world, they will always hold a special place in my heart. I remember discovering them around the time they released their ground breaking single ‘Haru Haru’ in 2008. Up until now, I have pretty much listened to all their music, even had the pleasure to attend the ‘Alive’ concert in London, 2012. I came alive. It was amazing. When it comes to song writing, and creating the music, these 5 boys know what they are doing. They never fail to produce catchy songs with an element of good rapping in most tracks, combined with spine tingling vocals! G-dragon (the leader), T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri each offer their own individuality and uniqueness to the table. It makes listening to their songs a memorable experience. Personally it’s hard to pick a favourite because they are oh so talented and unique. But I just have to specially commend G-dragon who is an amazing song writer and producer!! In my eyes, even though they have had their rocky moments in the public eye, nothing can replace the fact that they are legendary in the world of KPOP and I can only take my hat off to them out of thanks and much love to all of them for bringing much joy to me via their music. Pure hard work. Pure talent. 감사합니다. (BTS are good but Big Bang are amazing. Ooooo…..)

Wardrobe Lovin’

Do I like clothes? Yes. Do I splash on something I love? Yes. Do I feel good in the moment? Yes. Do I feel good 24 hours later? No. Because I realise I have been caught in the dangerous cycle of splashing on a piece of fabric. I believe there is no harm in treating oneself now and again because that is the beauty of self happiness. I love to do this now and again especially after payday. Yet I have come to realise how shocking the accumulation of clothes can become. The new clothes somewhat steal the limelight from the old clothes and then they end up either untouched for years on end or if the Marie Kondo is channeled within…given to the charity shop (which is gooood). It is a sad cycle and something I want to avoid as much as possible. I want to put the big L in love and truly wear my clothes with confidence, happiness and pride. It’s hard enough keeping up with the latest trend, let alone keeping self aware of what I don’t need and do need. The image above displays all my clothes in my wardrobe. There are 21 items altogether. I have one draw of tops I haven’t gone through yet. But the wardrobe is filled with clothes I want to wear for as long as possible. I want to save money and avoid temptation from the latest trends, and suppress the hungry consumer that I can be, and try my utmost hardest to harness the Miranda style I have already. For that is me. My challenge is to be wise with my budgeting, and spend on things I NEED, keeping amount of clothes to a minimum.

Poem #2 Invisible Man

Invisible man
You are the fog blinding my sight
It is my heart that guides me to
See through life
Even though you are not with me
By my side
My heart grows feeble over time
Don’t appear suddenly
You will give me a fright
Though may good energy
Be sought through
Prayerful time
For you to be my soldier
Who will protect me from despair..
Unspoken words lost in the air
I sing to unlock the tension of solitude
And hope for your presence to become real
And for me to be the girl you will always see.

This poem is open to interpretation, you can look at it in different ways. I wrote this poem with a sense of longing for someone who is not currently by my side, but a figment of my imagination. Although he is not physically present in my life, the thought of being with him is like ‘fog blinding my sight’ to reality around me. With pressures from society to find love from social media to TV shows to books to music, it is easy to fall into the trap into forgetting how colourful life can be beyond these pressures. I feel we go through each day motivated by our heart and willpower shaping our character, independent to our own thoughts and actions. ‘My heart grows feeble over time’ sounds sad I know. Given a heartbreak I have once been through, I feel as though the rest of the poem conveys a healing process, which takes time. I hope it makes you reflect the bittersweet nature of love and how it can break us yet slowly light emerges at the end of every tunnel, and everything will be alright for you, for me, for us all.

I am ok by the way 🙂 #feelinghopeful (Btw, this poem is not in Pocket Full of Stars)

Wild horses

My painting of a wild horse
Wild horses
Rolling Stones

Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted I bought them for you
Graceless lady you know who I am
You know I can’t let you slide through my hands

Wild horses couldn’t drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn’t drag me away

I watched you suffer a dull aching pain
Now you’ve decided to show me the same
No sweeping exit or offstage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away
I know I’ve dreamed you a sin and a lie
I have my freedom but I don’t have much time
Faith has been broken tears must be cried
Let’s do some living after we die

Wild horses couldn’t drag me away
Wild, wild horses we’ll ride them some day
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away
Wild, wild horses we’ll ride them some day.

A song so emotional and so beautifully written tugs at my heart strings and leads me on to reflect about the nature of relationships. My personal reflection of Wild horses is he is talking to someone he cannot love or be with. I get the feeling an illness of some sort is keeping them apart. But the utmost respect he has for her is conveyed in the line ‘could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind’. The line ‘I know I’ve dreamed you a sin and a lie’ struck a chord in me because the humility in admitting he has caused wrong shows he wants to clear the air, before he goes. I feel as though perhaps trust has been broken between them, ‘tears must be cried’ perhaps insinuating it was a serious predicament. ‘Let’s do some living after we die’, a powerful line that speaks for itself. As for the wild horses, I think they represent life.
