Mother Mary and Jesus

Today I went to the National Gallery and was amazed at how beautiful the paintings are. I haven’t been for a while so I was taken aback and mesmerised by the sacred value each painting holds. In particularly the paintings of the Mother Mary and her son Jesus. They sang an air of holiness and a peacefulness could be felt in the intimate, loving parent child relationship between them. I was inspired to write two poems and took a couple photos. I have also copied a painting of Mother Mary praying. It’s a peaceful image that pulled on my heartstrings. I hope you enjoy them.

Queen of Heaven

Quietly love and comfort will follow

Graciously serve thy son

And embittered soils beneath your devoted feet

Will be cleansed with the tears

You shed

In your deep sorrow for his pain

Undeservingly brought upon thy son

Kindly tread waters, however rough they were

Your abundant beauty traps the waves

And a warm breeze will lift the wilted leaves of your tree

Strong as you are, thy son loves you

And he treats you like the

Queen of his loyal heart.

Mother and Son

She bestowed upon him a love, sacred

Drawn through the crystal clear spirit

He is blessed with

Burdensome trials weigh upon his

Shoulders- so frail

Her limitless love carries through the storms,

She shields him with her embrace

Angels on high look down upon

The melancholic sight

A holy man hangs on a cross

They pour light tinted with darkness

Leaving a golden halo of his love for mankind

To radiate his humility of pure goodness

Eternally.

Thank you. God Bless.

A Photoshoot by Lisa Hayashi

Hello everyone, Happy Lunar New Year. I hope your days of 2020 so far have been good to you all. I am still currently giving this blog a makeover with a help of a dear friend of mine. Meanwhile, I thought I would share some photos taken by a beautiful, lovely, talented girl I am honoured to know, Lisa Hayashi. Here they are, enjoy. Please find a poem of mine I wrote several years ago, run through these captures. Enjoy.

Follow the train tracks toward the heart of your home, slide away hidden memories of the past, hindering your path

Gallop like horses set free in the wild, soar like eagles,
flying over ocean deep
Carry the jewels, given with love, tread carefully over the stones, they may break your bones
Let the beauty of your surroundings invigorate your soul, mingle with those you love the most
Journeying the way down mountains of grace
Rejuvenating the spirit, you find the place
Where goodness thrives
And a state of peace enhances the fresh air , a feeling of bliss resonates with your mind
In the crack of the moment, you feel alive.

May salty tears be dried up and a sweet smile sweep across your face

Today has been an emotional day. I ended up sitting in my friends bathroom crying this evening, but I am fine now after talking to my sister in Berlin on the phone, she is my heroine. My brain cannot seem to function right now as I truly madly deeply miss my siblings who are across Europe and one in New Zealand for Christmas. I fear I may get emotional again, so I will just leave you with Christmassy pics of myself in a festive red dress. And I will gladly share with you a heartfelt post sometime very soon. God bless you all and Merry Christmas.

Here is a Christmassy poem I found from Anne Brontë, enjoy

‘Music on Christmas morning’

Music I love - but never strain
Could kindle raptures so divine,
So grief assuage, so conquer pain,
And rouse this pensive heart of mine -
As that we hear on Christmas morn,
Upon the wintry breezes borne.

Though Darkness still her empire keep,
And hours must pass, ere morning break;
From troubled dreams, or slumbers deep,
That music kindly bids us wake:
It calls us, with an angel’s voice,
To wake, and worship, and rejoice;
